Today’s Kolkata adventure was packed with culture, colour, and captivating stories! We began with a humbling visit to Mother Teresa’s house, exploring her life’s work and her final resting place.

From there, we dove into the city’s vibrant pulse, wandering through India’s largest flower market, where locals bathe in the Ganges and newlyweds pose riverside for those unforgettable shots.

Next, the Railway Museum brought history to life in a fascinating glimpse into India’s railway heritage before we moved to the majestic Queen Victoria Memorial—part Taj Mahal, part St. Paul’s.

Lunchtime meant daring the local flavors in a local restaurant without anyone holding our hands! Our taste buds thanked us with delicious curries.

Then, in Kolkata’s artisan quarter, we watched as craftsmen transformed straw and clay into towering gods and mythical beasts. Keith even donned a special wedding hat, much to the delight of our travel friends!

We wrapped up our day at a breathtaking Jain temple, its walls glittering with glass mosaics and chandeliers from around the world. Tomorrow’s a 3:30 AM wake-up call for a scenic train ride along the Ganges and into the Himalayas. Bring it on!

📌 We’ve stayed at the Taj Bengal hotel in Kolkata which is a lovely 5 star hotel with a great pool area, welcoming bar and fabulous food.
We’ll be back in Kolkata later in our tour for more adventures!
