We’ve had a mad weekend of gigs but we managed to squeeze in a cheeky night away on Saturday. We met up with my best mate Krystle on Grange Touring Park, Great Yarmouth. It was a pleasant enough site- Keith and I realised that we hadn’t been on a proper site since Clachtoll, in April!! We thought at £20 per night it was reasonable for this time of year, the site was well landscaped, and thankfully there wasn’t the tacky club house that we try to avoid. It was about 15 mins walk to the beach and there were two pubs ( one nice ish, one less so) within walking distance. The beach was ok, perhaps not the nicest of that stretch of coast, but the dogs were allowed on and my oh my did they have a good time! We ate in the pub on site on Saturday night which was surprisingly good. Unfortunately the weather was rubbish, but it was nice to sit in K’s tent once the rain came down, and listen to the soothing pitter patter. Next morning, the storm had gone, and it left a beautiful sunny morning! We took advantage by cooking breakfast outside, something we miss when we aren’t on sites.
As nice as the site was, I don’t think we would return. Unfortunately the site is right next to the main road, and although it didn’t necessarily cause any nuisance to us, I think I would prefer to go somewhere without the road noise. Also, the location of the site wasn’t great, there wasn’t an awful lot to do round there. However, we still had a great time, and it was nice to be able to catch up with Krystle and Flaschy 🙂
